The warmth of sunlight
Accented by a cool breeze
Brings forth a rare day in NOLA
On which we neither sweat nor freeze.
And on this fine day,
Despite societal chaos surrounding,
Nature continues her play,
Never minding human corruption abounding.
As a sunbeam is cast,
Amongst the flowers and leaves,
A butterfly sheds its cocoon,
Spreads its wings, gently breathes.
For one moment, just this one,
Corruption squashed by a new life begun.
