On Monday night, Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced the 2019 Mardi Gras Clean-Up Operations Job Fair.
The Department of Sanitation will be hiring 200 temporary employees to help with cleanup during Mardi Gras. The position pays $11.05 per hour and has an earning potential around $700 between Feb. 22 and March 5.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Cantrell strongly encouraged anyone who is looking for a job to apply.
The job fair will be Tuesday, Jan 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the JOB1 Business and Career Solutions Center on Tulane Avenue. To participate, applicants need to bring their Social Security card, and a valid, state-approved photo ID. Qualified applicants will be asked to attend a two-day job readiness class before the 2019 Mardi Gras season.
