According to Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo, several police officers have been shot while serving a narcotics warrant.

Houston Police Union President Joe Gamaldi confirmed five officers were hit.
We currently have 5 officers shot, all on their way to the hospital. One is being life flighted. On the way to the hospital, will update when I can.

There is no word on their condition, but ABC 13 Houston reports that Life Flight was called to the scene. Officers were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, Medical Center, and Ben Taub Hospital. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner confirmed that the suspect in the shooting is down.

According to Houston Police, the shooting occurred in the 7800 block of Harding in the southeast part of the city. Agents from the ATF and Harris County Sheriff’s deputies were assisting on scene. Residents are asked to keep the area clear.
