Retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Tammy Savoie declared her candidacy for Louisiana’s House District 94 today. In her announcement, she pledged to fight for “economic prosperity, first-rate education, and quality healthcare” for her constituents.
District 94 covers neighborhoods in both Orleans and Jefferson Parishes.
Expanding on her platform, Dr. Savoie stated, “We have so much work to do: Economic prosperity for all – that means a living wage for everyone and fair pay; an environment that promotes ethical and prosperous business. An education system that works for everyone from early childhood, K through 12, and on to university study; and a Louisiana where everyone has access to quality affordable health care.”
Dr. Savoie previously challenged Representative Steve Scalies for his congressional seat during the 2018 elections. She followed a similar platform during that campaign.
Dr. Savoie said that she’s encouraged by what Louisiana has accomplished in “overcoming the devastation left by Jindal and his administration,” as well as the progress that Gov. John Bel Edwards has made in ensuring Louisiana residents have access to health care.
She pledged to help continue those trends, saying, “I pledge to fight for our community, to ensure a clean environment, a safe place to live, and a thriving culture in which everyone has the opportunity to grow up educated, healthy, and strong.
