Another legendary local has died.

As reported by WWLTV’s Eric Paulsen on Twitter, Mac Rebennack AKA Dr. John, blues musician and New Orleans torch-bearer, passed away this morning at the age of 77 of a heart attack, his family has stated:
“As a Rock N Roll Hall of Fame inductee, six-time Grammy winner, songwriter, composer, producer, and performer, he created a unique blend of music which carried his home town, New Orleans, at its’ heart, as it was always in his heart.”
