On Saturday, the upper 6-10 floors of the Hard Rock Hotel, currently under construction at the intersection of S. Rampart and Canal Streets collapsed, killing one person and injuring at least 19 others. According to authorities, the 19 injured are all in stable condition, however, another three people are currently unaccounted for.

Speaking at an 11:20 a.m. press conference near the site, New Orleans Fire Department Superintendent Tim McConnel stated that nearby buildings are being evacuated. McConnel stated that additional collapse is possible and that while the 270-ft crane at the construction site remains standing, it is currently unsupported.

This is an evolving story and will be updated.
