LA Wallet App Allows Residents to Renew Driver’s Licenses and I.D.s from Their Phone

During the stay-at-home order, the Office of Motor Vehicles is closed, making it difficult for residents to renew their necessary documents. In order to keep driver’s licenses and identification cards while the OMV is closed to the public, residents can download an app on their phone to renew their forms of identification. The app is called LA Wallet, which offers users the ability to use an official digital driver’s license or ID. All digital documents are 100% legal for driving purposes per Louisiana law of Act 625. The ATC legally approved all responsible vendors to accept LA Wallet for real-time age verification-required purchases and deliveries.

The app can be downloaded for free at the Google Play store for Android users and the App Store for Apple iOS users.

For other services usually sought out at the OMV, such as registration renewal, residents can visit ExpressLane.org.
