Village Keepers Rally to End Police Brutality in Jefferson Parish

Marrero, LA, July 8, 2020 – The Village Keeper’s and residents and allies in Jefferson Parish will rally at the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 to protest for justice in honor of slain Black men at the hands of JPSO.

The rally is prompted by the murders of Keeven Robinson, Chris Joseph, Daviri Robertson, Tremall McGhee, Modesto Reyes and others which sparked a response in involved citizens who wanted their voices heard. The rally will start at 5:00 PM.

#wearedonedying is a major theme in the organization’s call to obtain justice for the families of 17 citizens who were shot by JPSO. The Village Keepers is demanding change and has at its core a vision of a safer parish for Black people.
