Social SEO: Why is It Important?

For a while, SEO Brisbane experts have doubted whether Google considers their social mentions important or not. With vague and unclear stances, all of them try to work with their clients the best. However, since it’s such a controversy, let’s try to clear the fog surrounding the subject by looking at some factors:

What is Social SEO?

Firstly, let’s take a look at what the concept of social SEO is.

Social SEO means targeting social media platforms to get mentions and endorsements for your site. A lot of people struggle with the idea of spending their time targeting social media platforms. The problem is that once you decide on going for social SEO, it means that you’re going to have to be specific. You can’t leave any stone unturned. And when it comes to social media platforms, there are billions of stones. You’re going even to have to turn your best porn blocker off for this one. Not only will you have to search and narrow down specific groups, but you’ll also have to find the right target audience and engage with them. Therefore, although not impossible, it certainly makes the job of an SEO expert tougher and more time-consuming.

So, now that we know what social SEO is, let’s take a look at why you should still consider it important.

Reasons Why It Should Be Important:

YouTube and Facebook are two of the most visited websites and applications after Google. Almost 720,000 hours of video content is uploaded on YouTube every day. That makes it almost 500 hours being uploaded every minute. As for viewership, it might surprise you, but almost a billion hours of videos are watched daily.

As for Facebook, there are almost 700 million users on Facebook at any given time. Similarly, there are more platforms to target other than these two giants. As stated above, you need to narrow down your audience to reach potential clients and leads. Therefore, you need to make sure that you’re not leaving any platform untouched as well. That means that you need to target platforms like Quora and Pinterest as well. Probably because Pinterest’s 80% users are women and Quora has unique visitors coming in every month. The figure reaches up to 300 million, with each user spending at least 4 minutes and 30 seconds.

These are some of the things that you should know before you consider ignoring social media platforms. You can target all of them or some of them. This depends upon your niche and target audience that you need to reach. Moreover, as we said earlier, you have to engage with them. There’s no better way to know what your audience needs than to engage with them online from a marketing perspective.

Moreover, from a business perspective, if you’re not targeting social media, you’re probably not doing well. And if you are, but you’re not focusing on using SMM and SEO together, you’re definitely not doing good. If you are currently based in Minnesota and wants to improve your business thru Digital Marketing, you could always look for a Minneapolis SEO based company.

So, now that we understand the concept and the importance, I think we it’s pretty clear what we all should do.
