The Greatest Table Games Of All Time

Table games come in many shapes and sizes – there are tabletop roleplaying games, board games, and even classic casino table games. Table games provide a form of escapism, challenge your mind, and are also immense fun to play. Forget about online gaming and streaming – for an immersive, tactile experience, why not try a table game instead?

But which products are considered the best board games of all time? There are some iconic titles that immediately spring to mind and we have listed 7 examples. We have included a mix of genres, but each product can be classed as some type of a table game – enjoy!

1. Dungeons and Dragons

This is possibly the first title that most people think of when you say tabletop game. Dungeons and Dragons has been around since 1974 and has remained incredibly popular ever since. It is considered by many as the original tabletop RPG game. In Dungeons and Dragons, you can create epic quests that your characters must struggle through – this is immersive gameplay at its finest!

2. Warhammer 40k

Games Workshop is a well-known company in the UK and it has created two amazing tabletop games – Warhammer 40k, and Warhammer. Warhammer 40k combines tabletop game elements like Dungeons and Dragons but adds an extensive modelling and painting aspect.

You assemble and paint different units from various factions and use them to compete in epic battles and campaigns. Some of the most popular factions are the legendary Space Marines, evil forces of Chaos, and the wild and comical Orks. This hobby is a little expensive, but it is highly rewarding and you can even enter competitions such as the Golden Demon for your painting showcases!

3. Monopoly

Monopoly is maybe the TOP board game of all time! Initially, this game had one classic version which had different locations in London as the board tiles. Who can forget iconic locations like Park Lane, Oxford Street, and Old Kent Road? I can easily remember the colors, and prices of these properties!

Monopoly is a simple but fun game and you can make it as easy or complex as you wish. We are sure many people have enjoyed epic slog fests where games have lasted for hours! Nowadays, there is a range of Monopoly spinoffs too that have extended the longevity of this classic board game.

4. Casino Blackjack

We cannot talk about table games without mentioning THE classic casino table game – Blackjack. This is easily one of the most popular table games at both physical and online casinos. Most online casinos like 21 Dukes Casino have many variations of Blackjack – in fact you can read a 21 Dukes Casino Review to see exactly what games they offer.

Blackjack is a simple game and the aim is to get a score of 21 using as few cards as possible. The ultimate combination is of course an Ace (worth 11), and a picture card or 10.

5. Cluedo

The trio of classic board games is completed with Cluedo! Who did it? I think it was Professor Plumb, in the Ballroom, with the Lead Piping! Who thought murder could be as fascinating? Cluedo is a game of secrecy and you must use your deductive skills to outwit your opponents and try to discover who has committed the crime! Which Cluedo character are you?

This game has changed little since its creation and it remains a household classic. There is something incredibly fun about Cluedo and it is a game that the whole family can easily enjoy.

If you are a master of words then you will love Scrabble. This is another household board game that has been played for decades. Scrabble tests your wordsmith abilities, but also your mathematics and logical thought process.

Each player has a set of tiles with letters on. The letters have different values with the more difficult words having higher values. X, for example, has a value of 8, whereas A only has a value of 1. This remains an amazing game and you can come up with some fantastic combinations if you have the right imagination.

7. Star Wars Legion

Star Wars is one of the best-known film franchises in the world! It stands to reason that this franchise also has a hugely popular tabletop game – Star Wars Legion. Star Wars Legion is similar to Warhammer 40k from Games Workshop.

You can choose from different factions including the Empire, Galactic Republic, and the Separatists. There is a great range of models and units to choose from, and the gameplay is also immersive. If you love the idea of painting and modelling, but aren’t sold on the Warhammer universe, Star Wars Legion makes a fantastic alternative.
