The Save Our Soul Coalition (S0S) wants to thank Mayor Cantrell for listening to the voices of the citizens who are united in their desire that Congo Square, the Morris F.X. Jeff Municipal Auditorium and Louis Armstrong Park remain as the premiere historic cultural center for New Orleans.

In the Administration’s announcement today there was no mention of the pending RFP/RFQ process.  We look forward to the Administration amending or withdrawing the two documents. SOS stands ready to work with the Mayor and all of the other parties to develop a master plan that is consistent with the consensus of the community as evidenced in the SOS survey, community meetings and stakeholder charrette.

The SOS Coalition will hold a press conference tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. outside the Municipal Auditorium to discuss the progress they have made in developing a plan for the area as requested by Mayor Cantrell.
