US Calls for War Crime Investigation into Ukraine
United States President Joe Biden said that evidence needs to be gathered to put Russian President Vladimir Putin on trial for war crimes related to his invasion into Ukraine. Biden said that he plans to seek additional sanctions on Russian, noting that the Kremlin “should be held accountable.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russian forces of committing genocide.

Ketanji Brown Jackson Confirmed to Supreme Court
On Thursday, Kentanji Brown Jackson became the first Black woman confirmed to the Supreme Court, marking a significant milestone for the judiciary system in the United States. Jackson was confirmed by a vote of 53 yeas and 47 nays. Three Republican senators crossed party lines and voted for her: Mitt Romney of Utah, Susan Collins of Maine, and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska.
Jackson will be sworn in as an associate justice after Justice Stephen Bryer retires at the end of the court’s term sometime in the summer.

FBI Arrest Two Men Posing as Secret Service
Two men in DC were arrested and charged with falsely impersonating a federal officer after allegedly pretending to be special agents within the Department of Homeland Security. Arian Taherzadeh and Haider Ali were impersonating federal agents since February 2020, and one was part of the First Lady’s protection detail by offering favors.
