Three Mass Shootings Take Place Over Holiday Weekend in US

With three mass shootings throughout the United States this past weekend, two people are dead and 32 others have been left injured. The shootings took place at a nightclub as well as a mall both in South Carolina, and at a Airbnb party in Pittsburgh.

There have been 139 mass shootings in the United States so far in 2022, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

Three Alex Jones Companies File for Bankruptcy

Three companies affiliated with the conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, including Infowars, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy Sunday, following financial losses due to the defamation cases brought on by the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook shootings. Infowars says that it has less than $50,000 in assets. Infowars, Infowars Health, and Prison Planet TV each have liabilities up to $10 million, as reported by Bloomberg.

The file for bankruptcy allows the companies to continue to function as long as they meet certain requirements.

Zelensky Warns of Nuclear Attack from Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that there is a possibility that Russian President Vladimir Putin could use tactical nuclear weapons in his war in Ukraine. Zelensky called for “all of the countries of the world” to be prepared, even urging that air raid shelters and anti-radiation medications be readied.
