The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival will be returning to the fairgrounds this weekend for the first time since 2019. Founded in 1970, the festival has become beloved among locals and visitors alike, boasting thirteen tents and stages that host national and local musical acts. This year, musical headliners include Lionel Richie and Death Cab for Cutie on Friday, April 29 and The Who, Nelly, and Jason Isbell on Saturday, April 30. If you’re planning to attend, don’t miss our Top 10 Tips for Jazz Fest 2025 to make the most of your experience.

On Sunday, May 1, Red Hot Chili Peppers will take the stage, stepping in to fill the void left by previous headlining act Foo Fighters. Foo Fighters canceled tour dates in the wake of the death of their drummer, Taylor Hawkins. The Avett Brothers will close out the fest on the same day. 

Luke Combs, Billy Strings and Ziggy Marley will headline on Thursday, May 5. The Black Crowes, Ludacris and Elvis Costello headline Friday, May 6. Stevie Nicks, Erykah Badu and Melissa Etheridge will play Saturday, May 7 and Jimmy Buffett, Willie Nelson, Norah Jones and Trombone Shorty close the festival on Sunday, May 8.
