Madison Cawthorn Cited for Gun in Airport
Republican Representative Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina was cited for the second time now in just over a year for carrying a loaded handgun through a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoint at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
The loaded Staccato C2 9 mm handgun was discovered shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday April 26. Cawthorn was released, and CMPD took possession of the firearm.
A person can be fined up to $13,000 for a repeat offense, according to the TSA.

BYU Student Protest’s School’s LGBTQ Policies With Graduation Gown
Jillian Orr walked across the Brigham Young University (BYU) graduation stage Friday in hopes of getting her diploma and also send a message. Orr, who is a psychology major and is bisexual, opened her graduation gown to show a rainbow flag sown in underneath.

Orr said she hopes to sho that students can realize “the sooner they live their life authentically, the sooner they can tap into true happiness.” AT BYU, which is owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints, students are restricted from dating or showing signs of affection to anyone of the same gender identity at risk of being expelled.

Kamala Harris Tests Positive For Covid-19
United States Vice President Kamala Harris tested positive for the coronavirus after returning from a weeklong trip in California. Harris has no symptoms and will continue to isolate. She was not in close contact to the President or First Lady, due to their own recent travel schedules.
