Justice Department Intensifies Investigation into Handling of Classified Materials at Trump’s House

Federal prosecutors have launched a grand jury investigation into whether former United States President Donald Trump tampered with classified White House documents that were at his Mar-a-Lago residence. Interviews have also been requested with people who worked within the White House at the end of his presidency.

The National Archives and Records Administration discovered in January that Trump took boxes of official documents to his Florida home upon leaving the White House. The discovery was made after the Archives was retrieving materials subpoenaed by the January 6 committee.

Elon Musk’s Twitter Deal “On Hold”

Elon Musk, the chief executive of Tesla, tweeted on Friday that his $44 billion deal with Twitter is “on hold” until he has more details about fake accounts on the social media site, tweeting that less than five percent of users are spam accounts. He however then added in a follow up tweet that he is “still committed to acquisition.”

North Korea Reports Its First Covid-19 Case

After authorities in North Korea reported the country’s first Covid-19 case Thursday in the capital city Pyongyang, calling it a “most serious national emergency,” North Korea is now stating it has an “explosive” outbreak that has likely killed six people and already infected more than 350,000. North Korea remains one of two nations oil the world that has not administered any coronavirus vaccinations.

While experts doubt that North Korea did not have any cases prior to this one, they believe that the country now risks becoming an epicenter of a new variant due to the population’s low immunity and humanitarian crisis.
