Shooting at Buffalo Supermarket, Hate Crime
Ten people were killed Saturday in a racially motivated mass shooting at a Tops Friendly Markets store in Buffalo by 18-year-0ld Payton Gendron, who was in tactical gear and live-streamed the attack.
Thirteen were shot ranging from 20- to 86-years-old, 11 of which were Black and Gendron confirmed he was targeting the Black community.
Gendron pleaded not guilty to his first degree murder. He was allegedly “studying” previous hate attacks and shootings.

Texas Supreme Court Allows Investigation in Trans Youth Child Abuse Case
In an unanimous and potentially detrimental ruling, the Texas Supreme Court allowed Friday for the state child welfare agency to resume its investigation into parents and doctors who provide gender-affirming care including the administration of hormones and puberty-blocking drugs for trans youth, which Texas Governor Greg Abbott has called child abuse.
The decision overturns an injunction from March that barred the pursuit of an investigation into “any reported instances” of a range of treatments and procedures.

World’s Oldest Woman Turns 128
The world’s oldest woman, Johanna Mazibuko, celebrated her 128th birthday this past week. Mazibuko, who was born in 1894 and lives in Jouberton, Klerksdorp in South Africa, attribute a combination of fresh milk and wild spinach to her health.
Mazibuko had seven kids, two of whom are still alive today. She also has 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
