Pence Aid Warned Secret Service Trump Would Turn Against the Former VP

Former United States Vice President Mike Pence’s Chief of Staff, Marc Short, had warned his Secret Service agent, Tim Giebels, the day before the January 6 attacks that the then-President Donald Trump would turn against Pence, creating a potential security risk.

It is not clear, however, what steps Giebels took after hearing Short’s report.

NY Rep Ends Re-Election Run After Gun Control Backlash

Representative Chris Jacobs (R-NY) steered clear of his fellow Republicans’ stances and stood for gun control, embracing the ideas of federally banning assault weapons following the shooting at the elementary school in Ulvade, Texas.

However, after a week of intense backlash from his party for his stance, Jacobs has stepped down from his re-election campaign.

Mexican President to Skip Summit of Americas in Protest

Mexican President Andres Lopez Obrador will not be attending the Summit of the Americas, which is to be hosted in Los Angeles this week, in protest of United States President Joe Biden’s decision to not invite Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua.

The US claims that Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua do not follow democratic procedures or respect human rights and should therefore be excluded.
