Senators Reach Deal on Gun Safety Measures
While the gun reforms are not as great or vast as hoped by many, including United States President Joe Biden, a group of senators have reached a bipartisan deal on a package of safety and gun-related measures that could potentially prevent more school shootings in the future.
The proposal includes money to encourage states to pass laws to remove guns from potentially dangerous people, expand background checks for gun purchases for people between the age of 18 and 21 as well as provide money for school safety and mental health resources.
The agreement is supported by at least 20 senators, including 10 Republicans.

Previously, there was more than 700 hours required, which was the same basically peace officer training as law enforcement officials or security officers who carry firearms on campuses.
