New York Prohibits Firearms In Many Public Areas
Lawmakers in New York, convened by Gov. Kathy Hochul Thursday through Friday evening, passed a bill that prohibits handguns in many public places, including colleges, hospitals, parks, stadiums, as well as Times Square.
The law requires permit applicants to undergo 16 hours of training on gun handling. Guns will also be prohibited on private property unless the property owner expressly indicates that it is allowed.

Biden To Likely Allow More Offshore Drilling
United States President Joe Biden’s administration proposed up to 10 oil and gas lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico as well as one off of the coast of Alaska within the next five years — a move that goes against the president’s pledge to end fossil fuel leasing.

Google To Remove Location History For Abortion Clinic Visits
Google announced Friday that it will delete its users’ location history soon after they visit an abortion clinic, domestic violence shelter, or other similar place. Jen Fitzpatrick, a senior Google executive, announced the move in a blog post, noting that the tech giant will push back against what it considers illegal governmental requests for data.
