Certain things are considered bad for human health, but most of the time, we were not able to meet all of these as people are so busy in their day-to-day lives. Thus, they go behind things that are easy and convenient for them. These simple things can be harmful to both your health and your teeth. 

As you all know, some food items are considered bad for your overall health. For example, carbonated drinks. They not only compromise your health but also risk damaging your teeth.   • Too much care could even weaken your teeth.

  • A high amount of sugar intake.

We have been aware since childhood that sugar is one of the greatest enemies of teeth. They stick onto your mouth for a long time and are consumed mostly by the acid-producing bacteria in your mouth. These acids thus produced have the ability to decay your tooth by fading your enamel. Thus, it is known from childhood that food items like sweet candies and jellies are not teeth-friendly even though we loved them the most. 

  • Regular intake of carbonated drinks.

Carbonated drinks like soda, cola, pop, etc are good for quenching your thirst. But they are the most dangerous thing to get in contact with your teeth. The carbon present in such beverages is harmful to your teeth as it could easily damage your teeth’s enamel. By doing so, your teeth become weak and will be vulnerable to further decay. So it is highly recommended to stay away from such carbonated drinks.     

  • Avoid alcohol and tobacco.

Alcohol or just a glass of wine can damage your teeth. They are acidic and even stop the production of saliva. Saliva plays a major role in the removal of plaque and protects your teeth from the attack of bacteria. A low-plagued mouth reduces the chances of tooth decay. Just like alcohol, tobacco too can be unhealthy for your teeth. Regular use of tobacco can lead to discoloration of your tooth and even produce stains. The yellow stains produced by tobacco can even lead to oral cancer.  

  • Make use of your teeth as a tool.

We have come across different situations in our day-to-day life where we use our teeth as a tool. For eg; we use it to open up things like bottle caps, tear plastic bags, and much more. Such activities could weaken the strength of your teeth and must be avoided.  

These above-mentioned things are just a few of the reasons that are harmful to our teeth. A huge list of things can be charted out if you just consider your day-to-day habits. Just like food and drinks, some medications also can weaken your teeth.
