Biden Declares Pandemic Over

In spite of the fact that 65,000 new cases are reported and 400 people every day are dying from COVID-19 in the U.S., President Joe Biden declared that the pandemic is over.

“The pandemic is over. We still have a problem with Covid. We’re still doing a lot of work on it. It’s – but the pandemic is over,” Biden said on CBS’ “60 Minutes” on Sunday.

Hurricane Fiona Lashes Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic

After knocking out power to the entire island of Puerto Rico, Hurricane Fiona is now slamming into the Dominican Republic. Puerto Rico officials have noted that the wind and water from Fiona have lifted pavement off roads, flooded two airports, destroyed two bridges, and flooded homes, just five years after Hurricane Maria destroyed the island’s power grid in 2017.

Russia Shells Near Ukraine Nuclear Plant

Russian shelling damaged industrial equipment near a nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine on Monday, an act Ukrainian officials are calling “nuclear terrorism.” According to Ukraine’s state nuclear company Energoatom, the plant’s reactors have not been damaged and are working normally.
