Many in Ian’s Path Can’t Count on Insurance
While many of those on Florida’s coast had the necessary flood insurance to protect them from the damage done by Hurricane Ian, most of those in the central portion of the state did not. FEMA may provide some relief to those homeowners, but it will likely be only a fraction of the cost necessary to cover their damages.

According to a statement issued by Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales, San Antonio Officer James Brennand is the officer who shot and killed a 17-year-old boy as he ate while sitting in a McDonald’s parking lot. Brennand is described as a probationary officer with seven months of experience and has since been fired for violations of the force’s tactics, training, and procedures.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has described a Ukrainian attack that damaged the Kerch Bridge connecting Russia to Crimea as “a terrorist act” by Ukrainian special services. The bridge was damaged by a truck bomb, halting both road and rail traffic across the bridge.
Theres no doubt it was a terrorist act directed at the destruction of critically important civilian infrastructure of the Russian Federation, Putin said.
