Chief Justice Halts Release of Trump Taxes

Chief Justice John Roberts placed an administrative stay on the release of former President Donald Trump’s tax forms to Congress on Tuesday. Trump lawyers have filed a flurry of emergency petitions in recent days – mostly in attempts to overturn lower court rulings that spell more legal trouble for the former President.

Powerball Hits $1.2Bn

The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $1.2 billion after no one hit on Halloween. This is the fourth-largest jackpot in the lottery’s history, with the record being $1.586 billion in 2016. While no one won the Halloween jackpot, three tickets did win $2 million prizes, and 10 tickets won $1 million.

Days after taking over Twitter, Elon Musk has begun circulating the idea that getting that blue check mark verification may cost users a monthly $8 subscription fee in the future. Initially, Musk had suggested a $19.99 price point, but lowered the subscription fee after massive backlash from Twitter users. Previously, getting verified on the platform was a somewhat difficult process, with verifications being open only periodically.
