Second Annual Crescent City Fae Do Do Set For Friday March 22 to Raise Funds for Louisiana CASA

The Crescent City Fae will hold its annual  charity event, The Fae Do Do, Uptown at The Willow on Friday March 22 to raise funds for the Louisiana chapter of CASA.

The Crescent City Fae was founded in 2017 to honor New Orleans and the surrounding areas through the celebration of Mardi Gras, while also offering ongoing philanthropic support to the city and community. The krewe’s theme is characterized by mythical beings in European folklore focusing on Elemental Sprites, Pixies, Pans and Elves.

The event’s theme is “Rise of the Phoenix: Year of the Fire Sprite,” which co-founder Courtney Macbeth said celebrates the elemental fire sprite and the overcoming of adversity through the symbol of the phoenix.

“We are very excited about this year’s theme because it is something each and every one of us has achieved at some time in our lives,” Macbeth said. “We all face challenges and we are celebrating our ability as humans to adapt, rise above and overcome them.”

This year, proceeds from Fae Do Do will benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a statewide association that connects and empowers local programs to perform at their highest level. At the local level, the programs recruit, train and supervise CASA volunteers to advocate for children involved in the child welfare system and improve their well-being. At the state level, Louisiana CASA provides support, training and services to help the local programs operate effectively.

“Fighting for, believing in and advocating for the next generation is amongst the very most important causes. I believe there is no better hope for our future than the youth of our community. CASA is helping to provide them the opportunity to believe it as well,” Macbeth said.

The event will feature dance performances from the Crescent City Fae as well as other popular dance krewes. A signature cup with this year’s phoenix logo will be availablewith the purchase of the evening’s signature cocktail, which will be served in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.  There will also be a raffle for various gift baskets with tickets available to purchase online and at the event.  Winners must be present to win.
