JAMNOLA, New Orleans’ beloved cultural funhouse, has announced the closure of its original location at 2832 Royal Street, set for the end of December 2024. Opening in August 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, JAMNOLA quickly rose to prominence as a top New Orleans tourist attraction, drawing visitors from around the globe to its 5,400-square-foot immersive experience celebrating the city’s unique culture through art, music, food, and theatrics.

Founders Jonny Liss and Chad Smith revealed that this closure marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for JAMNOLA, with a fresh experience set to open on Frenchmen Street in early 2025. The new location promises entirely new exhibits and collaborations with artists, signaling a vibrant evolution for the cultural staple.

To offer locals a chance to experience the original exhibits before they retire, JAMNOLA is extending its “Locals Thursdays” discount to include Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Louisiana residents can purchase tickets at half price on weekdays by selecting the “Locals” ticket option at JamNola.com and presenting a valid ID upon check-in. Additionally, JAMNOLA will donate 504 tickets to local nonprofits supporting individuals in financial hardship, ensuring more New Orleans residents can enjoy the beloved space before its relocation.

A full announcement detailing the new Frenchmen Street experience and featured artists is expected in early November.

JAMNOLA, New Orleans’ first experiential museum, takes visitors on a “topsy-turvy stroll” through the city’s cultural treasures, featuring 17 immersive exhibits crafted by over 30 local artists. Co-founded by Bywater residents Liss and Smith in partnership with Cat Todd and Collin Ferguson of Where Y’Art Works, JAMNOLA has established itself as a cherished city gem—a love letter to New Orleans in the form of interactive art.

For those looking to experience the original exhibits before the move, JAMNOLA remains open Thursday through Monday. Tickets and additional details are available at JAMNOLA.com.
