Algiers Holiday Bonfire & Concert Returns with Local Flair and Festive Fun


The Algiers Economic Development Foundation (AEDF) has announced the much-anticipated return of its annual Algiers Holiday Bonfire & Concert on Saturday, December 7th, presented by OnPath Federal Credit Union. The event will take place on the Algiers batture at 200 Morgan Street from 4:30 PM to 8 PM, promising an evening filled with music, art, and holiday cheer.

A Louisiana-Style Celebration

This year’s event boasts a lineup of local talent headlined by Sunpie Barnes and the Louisiana Sunspots, whose soulful sounds embody the spirit of Louisiana music. The evening kicks off with performances by:

  • Shades of Praise Interracial Choir
  • New Orleans Military and Maritime Academy Band
  • DJ Jazzy Mizzle, who will host the event and keep the energy high throughout the night.

Adding to the excitement, the Ballerinas of the Bayou will take the stage, offering an interactive dance experience for children to join in on the fun.

A Night to Celebrate Algiers Talent

The event highlights the vibrant creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of Algiers, featuring:

  • A 30-foot bonfire, custom-designed by local artists from NOLA Burners.
  • An art market hosted by StayLocal and the Bounyful Market, a community farmer’s market that has been serving Algiers since 2020.
  • Food vendors and artists showcasing the best of Algiers’ culinary and artistic talent.

In true holiday tradition, Santa Claus will make a grand entrance aboard the tugboat Mardi Gras, courtesy of Crescent Towing & Fleeting, delighting children and families.
