Toups Family Meal (TFM), the charitable non-profit founded by Chef Isaac and Amanda Toups, is preparing to host its Second Annual Christmas Dinner Drive on Saturday, December 21st. The initiative aims to combat food insecurity and ensure that 2,000 New Orleans residents experience a warm and joyful holiday season.
From 2 PM to 5 PM, volunteer drivers will deliver meal boxes packed with everything needed for a festive Christmas feast: a whole chicken, collard greens, sweet potatoes, cornbread, and a pie for dessert. This year marks a significant milestone for TFM, as it will be the first time the meals are delivered directly to recipients’ doorsteps.
The Toups Family Meal Christmas Dinner Drive will operate from the organization’s distribution hub at 845 North Carrollton Avenue, where volunteers will gather to distribute meals across the city.
“Providing nourishment to families in need during the holidays is at the heart of what we do,” said Chef Isaac Toups. “This effort is a small way to make a big impact in the community we love.”
A Growing Mission to Eradicate Hunger
Founded in March 2020 as a grassroots response to the COVID-19 crisis, Toups Family Meal has grown into a vital organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity in Orleans Parish. Since its inception, TFM has served over 175,000 meals, with notable programs such as its summer meal initiative delivering 70,000 meals and ongoing efforts in disaster relief, community outreach, and food desert support.
The Christmas Dinner Drive is just one example of the organization’s dedication to helping families during critical times.
