Congressman Troy Carter Hosts Annual Toy Giveaway to Bring Holiday Cheer to Underserved Families

Congressman Troy Carter is set to spread holiday cheer to local families in need at his Annual Toy Giveaway, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 21, at Alice Harte Charter School, 5300 Berkley Drive in New Orleans. The event, which begins at 9 a.m., aims to provide toys to children who might otherwise go without this holiday season.

Designed to assist underserved families, the giveaway promises to bring joy to children by ensuring they have something to celebrate during the festive season. Toys will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to participate.

“This event is about lifting spirits and ensuring that every child has something to smile about during the holidays,” said Congressman Carter. “It’s one of the many ways we aim to support our community and bring people together.”

The toy giveaway is free and open to the public, thanks to the collaboration of several community partners. InspireNOLA Charter Schools, Walmart, the New Orleans-Baton Rouge Steamship Pilots Association, LJC Management d/b/a McDonald’s, and other local organizations have joined forces to make the event possible.

For those interested in contributing to the effort, there are opportunities to volunteer. More information can be obtained by contacting 504-510-9000.

Congressman Carter’s Annual Toy Giveaway has become a hallmark of community service in New Orleans, emphasizing the spirit of giving and the importance of coming together during the holiday season.
