Chef Nina Compton Hosts Book Launch Dinner at Compère Lapin Tuesday, April 1, 2025


James Beard Award-winning Chef Nina Compton invites guests to an exclusive book launch and dinner celebrating her highly anticipated new cookbook, Kwéyòl / Creole: Recipes Stories and Tings from a St. Lucian’s Chef Journey, on sale to the public on April 1, 2025. Written by Chef Compton with author Osayi Endolyn, Kwéyòl / Creole is the story of her thrilling culinary journey from St. Lucia to Jamaica, Miami, and New Orleans and explores the cuisines and places that have shaped the St. Lucian chef’s unique culinary perspective.

The four-course pre-fixe dinner – available all evening and priced at $75 per person (excluding tax and gratuity) – is inspired by the book, highlighting the vibrant flavors of Chef Compton’s journey. Menu & vegetarian menu:

Chef Compton and co-author Osayi Endolyn will be on-site for photos and autographs and will be participating in a few brief guided Q&As throughout the evening. Signed copies of the book are available for $37.50 and can be purchased when making a reservation.

WHEN/WHERE: The Kwéyòl / Creole book launch dinner will take place at Compère Lapin at The Old No. 77 Hotel, 535 Tchoupitoulas Street in New Orleans. Reservations are available from 5:30PM – 9PM and can be made HERE.
