A night of Cajun music, savory eats, and community giving is on tap as Toups Family Meal (TFM), the nonprofit founded by Chef Isaac and Amanda Toups, brings back Toups Fest for its second annual celebration. Set for Sunday, June 22nd from 5 to 9 p.m. at The Broadside (600 N Broad St), the event aims to raise funds and awareness for the fight against food insecurity in Orleans Parish.
Presented by Hardhide Strawberry Whiskey, this year’s Toups Fest features a lively performance from GRAMMY-winning Cajun band The Lost Bayou Ramblers, with Midriff opening the show. Guests can also expect mouthwatering food, refreshing drinks, and a spirited auction—all benefitting Toups Family Meal’s ongoing mission to provide meals to families in need.
Tickets are available in advance for $40, with a pay-what-you-can option at the door to ensure accessibility for all. Funds raised will help expand TFM’s outreach, including its summer meal distribution, which has already delivered 70,000 meals to date.
A Grassroots Mission That Grew
Launched in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Toups Family Meal began as an emergency response to feed those hit hardest by the crisis. In the years since, the organization has evolved into a vital nonprofit tackling systemic food insecurity in New Orleans. With a focus on children and underserved communities, TFM has served over 175,000 meals through holiday distributions, disaster relief, and year-round outreach programs in food deserts.
“Our work isn’t just about feeding people—it’s about supporting dignity, resilience, and equity in our city,” said Amanda Toups. “We believe food is a basic human right, and this event is a chance for the community to come together and make a tangible difference.”
