New Orleans & Company has kicked off its annual summer tradition, New Orleans Museum Month, inviting locals and visitors to explore the city’s vibrant arts and cultural scene throughout August. From August 1 to 31, anyone with an active membership at one of the 29 participating museums will receive free admission—plus one guest—to all other participating institutions.

This year, organizers have introduced the Museum Month Passport, a new feature designed to encourage participants to visit multiple museums. Passport holders can track their visits, collect stickers, and engage with museum staff for a chance to win prizes. The initiative adds a fresh layer of interactivity to the month-long celebration, creating new incentives for cultural exploration.

The 2025 edition of Museum Month also carries deeper meaning, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Many participating museums are marking the milestone with special exhibits and artworks that honor the city’s resilience and the enduring strength of its communities.

“August is a great time for locals and visitors alike to spend time in New Orleans,” said Walt Leger III, president and CEO of New Orleans & Company. “With the depth of museums and restaurants participating, there is something for everyone. We are proud to work with local businesses and museums for our annual COOLinary celebration and Museum Month, reminding everyone of how truly unique New Orleans is, and driving business to local establishments for the benefit of our community. From our amazing restaurant scene to our innovative museum network, New Orleans’ diversity and creativity is one of the many reasons why New Orleans remains one of the best places to live, work and visit.”
