New Orleans, LA. – September is Men’s Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Abundant Life Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist Church will host a Men’s Prostate Cancer Awareness Event on Saturday, September 6th, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Abundant Life Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist Church (1701 Franklin Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117). The event will bring together leading physicians, community leaders, and health advocates to raise awareness about prostate cancer and men’s health in an effort to save lives through early detection and education.
The day-long event will feature free health screenings, including prostate checks, blood pressure and blood sugar testing, body fat analysis, and pneumonia and tetanus vaccines. Attendees will also enjoy a dynamic Men’s Health & Wellness Panel with experts covering topics such as preventative care, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, and healthy eating.
“Last year, I discovered I had prostate cancer during a men’s health fair just like this one,” shared Bishop Tyrone G. Jefferson, Jr., Pastor of Abundant Life Tabernacle. “That early detection saved my life. Over 150 Black men were tested that day, and I am living proof of why these screenings matter. Our community cannot afford to ignore cancer.”

This free event is open to the public and especially encourages men in the community to take charge of their health.
