Public protest: Jefferson Parish residents and community groups to gather at Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office Building in protest of racist immigration crackdown

New Orleans, Louisiana- One week into “Operation Catahoula Crunch,” Jefferson Parish has seen a barrage of violent immigration raids, with residents being chased, harassed, or arrested without cause. Furthermore, video and eyewitness evidence suggest that a pedestrian was run over in an immigration enforcement chase at Veterans and Massachusetts in Metairie on Friday evening. Jefferson Parish Police Department denies credible eyewitness reports and targeted a leading immigrant rights activist from Union Migrante – yet they have provided no explanation or contrary evidence. Protestors will demand that Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office release all relevant footage now!
