U.S. Senate candidates Democrat Jamie Davis and Republican Julia Letlow will campaign in New Orleans this week at two separate events that are free and open to the public.
The Orleans Parish Republican Executive Committee, the Greater New Orleans Republicans PAC, and the Greater New Orleans Republican Women will host a meet and greet for Letlow Monday, August 3 beginning at 3 p.m. at 762 Coffee and Cocktails, 762 Harrison Avenue.
Davis is coming to New Orleans Thursday, August 6 as part of the Louisiana Democratic Party’s No More Silence Tour. The Orleans Parish Democratic Executive Committee is co-sponsoring the event which will be held at SUNO’s Natural Science Building, Room 103, 6400 Press Drive between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
A 56 year-old farmer from Waterproof, Louisiana, Davis carried every parish in Louisiana’s Democratic primary. He previously served on the Tensas Parish Police Jury. Davis is campaigning on traditional Democratic values such as affordability and opportunity, good jobs and clean air, solving the insurance crisis, making health care work for Louisiana’s families and responsible AI and Data Centers.
As a third generation farmer, Davis is also focused on the impact of retaliatory tariffs, farm profitability, disaster aid and building infrastructure in the Mississippi Delta. He supports clean, open governments free of non-disclosure agreements and is a strong defender of the Second Amendment including the need for common-sense gun safety like background checks.
Davis has been energizing Louisiana’s Democratic leaders and prides himself on his large number of small donors whose average gift is less than $20.
Letlow, 45, has served in Congress representing District 5 since the death of her husband more than five years ago. She was the first Louisiana woman elected to U.S. House of Representatives in three decades following the footsteps of the late Lindy Boggs.
In her race for the U.S. Senate, Letlow has been endorsed by President Trump, Governor Landry and most Republican elected officials statewide. She defeated State Treasurer John Fleming in the June 2026 primary.
A Christian conservative, former educator and mother of two children, Letlow serves on the House Appropriations Committee and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. She firmly stands with President Trump and also supports keeping the border secure, securing elections, growing Louisiana jobs and small businesses, and unleashing American and Louisiana energy.
Jamie Davis will face off against Julia Letlow on November 3, 2026. Early voting will take place from October 20 to October 27, excluding Sunday.
