The New Orleans Public Library is honored to host Civil Rights Icons Leona Tate, Dodie Smith-Simmons, Edwin Lombard, and Malik Rahim in conversation with the Historic New Orleans Collection’s Eric Seiferth about their work, legacy, and vision for the future. All four individuals made monumental and long-lasting impacts on the road to racial equality, including Dr. Tate’s groundbreaking role in integrating New Orleans’ public schools.

 

This event was organized by the Library’s City Archives & Special Collections department.
