Toups’ Family Meal is a non-profit founded by Chef Isaac and Amanda Toups, whose is mission is to bridge the gap of food insecurity in New Orleans. This summer we are focusing on feeding children while they are out of school.

Our June 30th fundraiser is being generously presented by Hardhide Ponchatoula Strawberry Whiskey and will feature the Lost Bayou Ramblers, food by Joel’s Lobster Rolls, Cochon King BBQ, and Southern’s Fried Chicken. We will also have a silent auction happening on-site. Doors open at 5pm, music starts at 6pm! Chef Isaac Toups will be our MC!

So far this non-profit has provided over 13,000 meals and is track to provide another 50,000 before the end of summer, assuming they get your support.

More about Toups’ Family Meal:

Our goal is to feed underserved communities in our city, which is culturally known for some of the best cuisine in the world. Unfortunately, the disparity we are seeing is some of our hardest working citizens still can’t bring home enough to keep families fed.  We find this to be unacceptable. One in three New Orleans families are currently facing food insecurity.

This summer, we are focusing on kids who rely on the free/reduced school lunches during the school year, and supplementing as many meals as we can while they are out of classes for the summer break. We have delivery drivers signed up to deliver meals directly to those who’ve expressed need, and will be dropping off on Tuesdays and Fridays every week. Cold sandwiches, meals ready to heat, as well as shelf stable snacks, fruits and veggies will all be included in our drop-offs weekly. We need help to accomplish this undertaking! Our food-safe certified staff at our restaurant (Toups Meatery) are preparing and assembling all meals, but we need donations to cover the cost of ingredients. Everything we raise is going directly to ensuring the kids who are being raised in the Big Easy are satiated and happy.
