The sole winning ticket for a record $2.04 billion Powerball lottery jackpot was sold at a Joe's Service Center in Altadena, CA. Social media influencer Ramon Abbas, known online as Ray Hushpuppi, was sentenced to over 11 years in federal prison for conspiring to launder tens of millions of dollars. Tropical Storm Nicole is expected to become a Category 1 hurricane before making landfall along the Florida coast later this week.

Artemis I Launch Delayed; Named Tropical System Likely by Labor Day; Counteroffensive Under Way In Ukraine

NASA's planned launch of the Artemis 1 spacecraft was delayed this morning. NHC is tracking an area of low pressure over the central Atlantic that has an 80 percent chance of becoming a named system within the next five days. Senior US officials have said that Ukrainian forces are conducting "shaping" operations ahead of a planned counteroffensive in the southern region of the country.
