Hurricane Ian is expected to strengthen to a Category 4 hurricane before making landfall on the central west coast of Florida on Wednesday. Democratic lawmakers have introduced a stopgap spending measure in a bid to avoid a government shutdown on Oct. 1. Oath Keeper founder Stewart Rhodes and four others began their trial for seditious conspiracy in connection to the Jan. 6 insurrection on Tuesday.
